Thanks for posting Sakuya. I'm always sceptical when it comes to tabloids, so I won't believe this until I hear it from an official source. I never considered Tatu and Fergie to be within the same genre, but that doesn't mean they can't collaborate. On the contrary... I'd be really interested in what they could cook up. _________________ a.k.a. Sir Pish E. (*Mufflemuffle*) |

t.A.T.u. collaborating with Fergie could be awesome. I hope it's true. :)
I like Fergie's solo album, The Dutchess, it's very diversified, different styles, a few really good songs, plus she has a pretty good voice and a strong personality. Not to mention that Lena and Yulia are good friends with her. It will also be nice to see Lena and Yulia collaborate with a woman. (If it's true, that is.)
Thanks, Sakuya! |

Translation. Thank you crazy malchik

t.A.T.u to sing with Fergie
t.A.T.u girls Yulia Volkova & Lena Katina were proposed to record a song together with the singer from the group Black Eyed Peas, Fergie.
- When we came to studio in Los Angeles, our producer came to us and suggested us to sing with Fergie - says Volkova. - Me and Lena clapped our hands because of such luck!
Now the girls rehearse every day and literally don't get out of the studio. The song is for the new album of t.A.T.u.'s and it's got high expectations.
Source: Zhizn (Russia) |
I saw Fergie on stage few years ago, and the gig was great. At least girls can learn from her about how to hold the stage...
P.S Rumour on russian side of tatu.ru has it that Timbaland may be new CD director, Katina told the source that this is one of the scenario...
Dont know if its true though. _________________ M (c) 2007. Sakuya inc. "M" is official trademark of Sakuya inc. All rights reserved. Unauthorisied copying, reproduction, hiring, lending, public performance and broadcasting prohibited. Made in EU.

This is great news. I think a collaboration would be great. It would be interesting to hear them sing with a girl, especially someone like Fergie.
As for Timbaland being the director, well...I guess it couldn't hurt. He has worked with Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado and other great artists.
This new album sounds very promising.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see. God how I hate waiting.

Ok, am I the only one who hates Fergie's new album? The song London Bridge made no sense what-so-ever and sounded terrible. I like her but not her music.
I think it's cool they might be working with some other well-known artists but I hope they don't change their sound. I don't want to hear another pop/r&b album. There are enough artists out there that already sound the same as it is and Tatu's sound is nothing like that, which is what I love most about them. They have more of an "edge," for a lack of a better word, and I would be very disappointed if they made some mainstream pop album just to sell records. _________________

Thanks for posting Sakuya. I think it would be really interesting to see t.A.T.u. interact with Fergie I truly liked her solo debut. Besides she's got a strong, powerful, unique voice. It would help t.A.T.u. in terms of promotion and sales as well. However, I wouldn't want to hear some sort of Fergie-t.A.T.u. hip hop mix The girls must always mantain their own style. All this assuming this is true news, but I'll remain skeptical for now _________________

Like Ivan said before the break up with him, Tatu needs to promote themeslves to a whole new group of people.

What happen is:- The zhizn journalist thought it’s time for another story on tatu. As part of his in-depth research he finds the recent photo update on tatu.ru, here: http://www.tatu.ru/en/photo.html?id=116&np=2 There is absolutely no shred of truth in the story. (IMO).
tatu should not collaborate with anyone. As for Yulia’s rap in Stars. That is not real rapping. I can tell, because it’s good. _________________ I've got "Property of Yulia Volkova" tatued on my heart. |

According to Jam_One, an administrator on the Tatu.ru forum, the Fergie "news" is simply "a product of somebody's imagination" which - given that the source is the tabloid Zhizn - isn't really all that surprising.
Jam_One states that "Yulia likes Fergie. That's a "positive". But the rest of the "news" was a product of somebody's imagination, being a "negative" therefore... [...] At the present time [it is a rumour]. Tatu have no plans to co-work with Fergie. "Like it or hate it", but this is up-to-date official information..." Source

Despite being excited by the prospect at first, I have to say I'm relieved that it looks to be nothing but a tabloid rumour. However, t.A.T.u should do a collaboration - I don't really think Sting and Richard Carpenter generated the sort of publicity they'd hoped for. |

Tatu won't sing with Fergie

Official representatives of the group denied recent rumours of Yulia and Lena planning to record a song together with the Black Eyed Peas singer - Fergie.
"Tatu have no plans of co-working with Fergie at the moment", - said Tatu's officials.
Tatu-girls are on holidays now and plan to start studio recording of their new album at the end of February.

Well, I guess that means no t.A.T.u./Fergie collaboration. I wasn't all that excited about it anyways. But it would've been interesting though.

i agree. i think making a big deal of collaborations just distracts people from the fact that tatu are great all by themselves.
they are a unique band with good music that is set apart from the american-saturated music scene. tatu was the answer to that, and having more of an american flavor through an artist no matter how big a name would just dilute their europop fabulousness. _________________ "First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Why? Whats wrong with doing something different? I really enjoyed Happy Birthday, even though it really wasn't a "collaboration." Even if you hate the song you can always skip it.

More than a handfull. Some of the recording studios look like houses and such. They are pretty expensive depending which one they go to. Some charge up to $10,000 an hour. |
